Look, CinemaWins, I honestly just have a question for you: Did you actually like the movie? You say liking things is more fun than not liking things, and that choosing to like something is more fun than not liking something. The issue with that is that it's false positivity. If you seriously don't like something, that's fine. If you like something, that's fine too. But I can never tell. You've covered so many things, but because you constantly say that you find it fun to choose to like things, I can never tell if you actually like something. Be honest man, because it hurts a lot of your credibility because I can never tell if you are lying to me or not. Do you just like everything, or do you just have to pretend to like something because that's your channels point. I just want to know, please answer my question.

10:57 When I saw this scene I assumed that the Red Guardian was a Russian propaganda machine, going into staged fights against a fake "Captain America" while Alexei was none the wiser. No, it's nothing like that scene. This scene doesn't make sense, because Natasha wants to ask Yelena why she sent the vials, and Yelena needs Nat to send it to the Avengers. So why do they engage in a fight? In the Nebula and Gamora fight, Nebula is trying to kill Gamora, which fits her motivation, and Gamora is defending herself. In one fight, characters act according to their motivation, and in the other they just do completely random shit for the sake of having a fight scene.

The blue light during the prison avalanche scene was from a transformer(s). When a transformer blows it gives out a bright blue flash of light. Theorize all the want, but that whole lie is still fucking shit. Anyone with half a brain knows Cap went into the ice long before Alexei was Red Guardian, it was a massive public event. Cap only came out of the ice in 2012, when Alexei was in jail. People would know this. If your only defense is "yeah well Alexei is stupid" then that's an awful excuse, because you're having a character act moronic with an awful boast that doesn't work and adds nothing to the plot besides holes.

Episode 2 and 3 should be Obivious to everyone that I don't have to explain it lol. Episode 4 Dr Strange use the time stone for his plan and his whole story and character is different. This movie really showed me how people really focus (in my opinion too much) on the plot and dismiss everything else that makes a movie. The plot of Black Widow is pretty forgettable, as are the action scenes and the villain, but Florence Pugh and David Harbour's performance was AMAZING, so much so that this is one of my favorite MCU movies honestly. When Yelena talks about her jacket in the car, the way she emotes and delivers her lines, and the dinner table scene at the end when she breaks down, were simply iconic.

How is Bucky an Antihero? He was forced into doing something wrong without his consent. He would feel awful about doing it, of course, because of all the pain he caused, but Bucky is innocent, and honestly, when has he ever done anything wrong on purpose in this franchise? Oxford Dictionary says an antihero is "a central character in a story, movie, or drama who lacks conventional heroic attributes." Bucky is brave, he cares about his friends, and time and time again tries his best to save the world. Bucky is not an antihero.

I just hate how they did Taskmaster. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to make a character who talks as much as Spider-Man only have one line. The choice to make Taskmaster Dreykov's daughter cheapens the impact of what Nat chose to do in order to kill Dreykov. Plus making her mind controlled and instantly forgive Nat takes away any consequences for Nat's actions, and her powers being an algorithm means that every Widow could have been Taskmaster but Dreykov chose not to because... reasons? This didn't feel like Taskmaster, it felt like Winter Soldier with control c + control v.

@Priya Choudhary it’s the fanboys fault for assuming that the character who’s part of the taskmaster protocols, who’s power is mimicking other people’s fighting style, who has a sword and shield with a very distinctive logo on the front (which actually doesn’t make any sense to have in this universe), who wears a skull mask, and hood and blue, white and orange color scheme and who flat out is played by a dude would be taskmaster. That’s a fucking assumption but if anyone calls out the fact the MCU Peter doesn’t have uncle Ben cause he doesn’t say it suddenly your wrong because of course he does

they completely stripped away all of taskmasters personality traits when they could have used other villians such as iron maiden for example. imagine just how much more better the story and movie would've been if Nat had to fight against her mom. but nope, they took another character with already defined character traits and used him to move the plot. They massacred my boy

5:15 Actually for most of the pre-reveal Taskmaster scenes, the actor wearing the suit was one of many stunt doubles that Olga had; the main double is a tall and clearly masculine man (forgot his name sorry, but I saw his profile on social media haha). Probably did this to further mislead the audience into thinking the Taskmaster really would be a male character because of the physical build. So that's probably him walking here, to make it as natural as possible.

I too twigged on Olga in the credits and immediately knew who she was. That being said, it made me excited about the future of Taskmaster after I had heard (and later saw for myself) that they don't say a damn word the whole movie, which does the comic fan favorite a disservice. The excitement comes from the hope that they don't hire Olga for a one-off mask reveal, they hire her cause she can definitely hit that personality from the comics and I hope that's their intention in subsequent movies (where she opens a school to train henchmen and gets beers with Deadpool and Wolvie, sometimes).

I'd take a bet you're still working on the script and structure for such a massive piece. All joking aside, I hope you and yours are keeping well during these uncertain times. I appreciate the work and time that's needed to create these types of video essays/opinion pieces. Certainly provides a sense of relief for me. Nice. Maybe it's because I went into this with low expectations and had to watch it at home because I was in stupid lockdown but I thought it was a surprisingly good movie that came out way too late. If it had come out several years ago I think it would've gotten a better reception because it would've been another mid tier Marvel movie. Since it is THE Black Widow movie it had to be all things to all people so it had a major expectation problem right out of the gate. The ad campaign didn't help making it seem like something it wasn't. They made it seem like Taskmaster was our villain when they were basically a third level bad guy at best behind Ray Winstone and the other WIdows. I would've like more of Red Guardian and the family which was another thing that was played up in the trailer and ultimately ended up being a minor part of the film. David Harbour was great whenever he showed up. I wish the same could be said of Rachel Weisz but she wasn't in it enough to leave much of an impression. Another big mistake. Florence Pugh fortunately saved the day. She elevated every scene she was in and even scenes she wasn't in. Perfect casting for the next Black Widow and I need her to get a series or film of her own ASAP because she is so effortlessly charming it's a joy to behold. ScarJo was great in the role as always. I just wish she'd had more time with Florence Pugh. They had incredible chemistry together and Nat was always better when Yelena was with her. I heard about the scene with "the vest" before seeing the movie and I thought we'd be getting another "dice" situation. Florence Pugh made it work as she did with the talk of Natasha being a poser. She somehow saved the talk of what was done to the reproductive systems of the Widows which was a baffling bit of storytelling and had no business being in the movie, nor did Red Guardian bringing up their "time of the month" in the first place, yet it worked solely thanks to Florence Pugh.
