@6EQUJ5 Harden I see, so you think that because movies have a predictable ending, aka good guys win, means that people who enjoy it are less intellectual? Okay, it seems you are a bit of an idiot. Just because someone likes a movie and enjoys not thinking too deeply about the plot doesn't make them stupid. I know many people, that enjoy going to a cinema, shutting the brain off and not thinking about the movie too much. That is why it is called entertainment. If I wanted to think too deeply about plot I would go see movies that are made that way. And if every movie had some deep meaning, that makes you change your views on the world and people in it, do you know what would happen? They would get stale and boring. People go see movies for mostly one main reason, be it acknowledged by them or not, and that is to escape their everyday life. They want some extra flavor in it. And that is given to them by books, comics, cartoons, movies, or as we call it, an entertainment. So take your stupid thoughts and insulting comments and leave this video and it's comment section because, by your words, you hate the very same thing this video is made about. Or you are just troll, which is possible as well. Adios, you random guy.

@David Bujna If people get insulted by me telling them that the marvel movies are made for lower IQ demographic they might just be stuck in choices that put them there by their own choice. If they feel offended when someone present that reality as a possibility then it's long overdue for them to stop worshiping marvel.

While it’s perfectly reasonable and even just common sense to assume that Tony Stark would do the right thing, I like to believe there’s also a subtle callback to civil war in his scene talking with pepper about time travel. After looking at the picture of him and peter, he decides to entertain an inkling of an idea to crack the time travel case. After finding he can do it, he still weighs his discovery against the chance that he could lose everything he’s gained in the last five years. He could easily just drop it. No one would ever know, and he would move on with his life. Outside the “but can you rest?” line, there’s another line I believe he dwells on. When he first meets Spider-Man, Peter says “when you can do the things I can do, and you don’t, and then the bad things happen... that’s on you”. And I’ll be damned if that doesn’t apply directly to Tony being literally the only one capable of figuring out time travel in under 5 minutes! I think he was operating on his own motivation for the greater good, validated by pepper’s understandings of his morality, and motivated by both the loss and wise words of a kid he saw as his own.

Jaar geleden
Dr. Kira +9
Dr. Kira

It reminds me of one of the last words of the Twelfth Doctor (from Doctor Who): "Can't I ever rest? Can't I ever have peace?" And like with Tony Stark, the response is the same: it's your choice. It's his choice to settle down somewhere and retire from saving the world or (in The Doctor's case) the entire fuckin' universe.

9:51 The one win I was missing was here: "Tony, I don't know." "Why not? He made it for you." "... Thank you, Tony." There is *so much* in that quick moment; Steve's reluctance to be "the hero" again; Tony's acceptance of his dad's obsession/hero worship, and his acknowledgment that Steve is more than just the man with the shield, but he deserves to carry it; Steve's guilt over everything that's even partially related to him and the legend he created; and the true reconciliation of the break in Civil War. Just... quiet, simple, absolutely stellar moment for both.

So what is so bad about me talking to a circlejerk of opinionated people that are disgrunted to hear their favorite thing in the world is actually childish if they themselves are kids? Maybe it will spark an debate in their mind that worshiping a cooperate conglomerate business for your entertainment where least input with highest output is their goal instead of passionate story telling is not that good of a recipe for entertainment? also about T2 yeah you are right but I was 8 when I saw it on TV for the first time in my country.

One little detail that gets a win from me is how Tony's daughter, as soon as he picks her up during the first visit from the others, VISIBLY turns away from the others, refusing to look at them, even though it's obvious she's not scared by them. She can tell her daddy doesn't like them for some reason, and is thus not giving them her time or attention. It's a wonderful little detail that helped sell her and Tony's relationship for me: kids pick up on a LOT more than what most adults expect, and kids are especially perceptive of their parents' moods, turning Tony's guarded mood into outright dismissal from his daughter. Brilliant.

I don't see it as Cap being annoyed with how he sounds at all. He's just annoyed that instead of this plan finishing up nicely without a hitch, he's now got to deal with fighting his past self who, as he knows too well, can do this all day. I know the exact feeling. As a police officer, I enjoyed a lot of the high adrenalin stuff, foot chases, all hell breaking loose in situations, etc. It was just fun (and no, I was NEVER a dirty cop). Anyway, there'd be times when you just wanna go home on time, and you know you have a bunch of paperwork to still do from stuff earlier in the shift, but something major happens. I'd just look at the person I would now have to deal with and be thinking to myself "c'mon dude, just make this easy on all of us. It's almost time to go home, but now you're making me late."

One thing I noticed that I really like is when Tony comforts Strange after he comes back from his 14,000,605 future visions. Tony reassures Strange that he's back in the present because with PTSD, he's probably also spent many nightmares back in the cave in Afghanistan and the Battle of New York and probably has woken up a lot not knowing if he was back in reality or not. He didn't even know what Strange was doing but could understand Strange had lost touch with their reality for a moment and Tony understands that all to well and gave Strange what had helped him during those nights. Reassuring him that yes, he was back. He was safe. (For the moment at least). I think it was a beautiful underappreciated moment for Tony's character.

She made such a big deal in the first Avengers movie about how much red she had in her ledger. The only way to wipe it out was to sacrifice herself to bring everyone back. Like Tony's sacrifice, Steve lifting Moljnir and also going back to relive his life with Peggy, this is a callback to the first movie and bringing the character full circle. Also, Natasha did get a funeral scene of sorts -- the one by the lake when they talk about whether they can bring her back and realize they can't.

The total population of humans on the planet was 7.6 billion in 2018, that’s a loss of 3.8 billion people. Five years later, all those people come back. Since society isn’t a hellscape in 2023, it’s seems that the world adapted to the loss of population, so doubling that, going back up to 7.6 billion people would take a huge toll, many would have starved because there wouldn’t have been enough food. I love this movie as much as the next guy, but there should have at least some mention of the consequences of just doubling the population like that, and not force you to watch a streaming exclusive show for them to acknowledge the problems.

@Samuel Barber New infrastructure won't have changed that much though, there is a high chance about half of each set of jobs like contractors construction workers and government officials have all been blipped. The food supplies doubles when the population is halved. There was enough resources before, enough after. And guess what, there's literally an ENTIRE show about the consequences of the blip. Go watch FATWS they've literally been talking about those problems. This was the huge thing about the Endgame, there are lasting stakes. What an incredible movie this was.

@10:50 - One detail that a lot of people miss that I love from this scene: during his Refusal of the Call moment and whilst visibly experiencing PTSD, Thor places an aggressive hand on Professor Hulk, who, in an uncharacteristic display of self control, just stands there, smiling confidently, and simply and calmly tells him to take his hand away. Not only does this show how far Hulk has come, but how much his relationship with Thor has evolved - he can see his friend is in pain and empathizes with him, but he is *still* the Hulk, and he will not have puny gods prodding him in the chest.

@hakasims no, they weren't. Because the focus should be on Clint's family rather than Clint himself. He has a 3 year old son, a (probably) 12 year old daughter and a 14-15 year old son. Laura *needed* Clint to come back and the writers knew that. THAT is why they killed of Natasha. She didn't have any biological family. No husband. No children. Was she the best choice? No. Was she the logical choice? Yes.

I love Nebula so much in this and Karen Gillan's performance is spot on. It might just be me but there's something going on in that first scene between Stark and Nebula. During her own movies she speaks like any regular person. In this bit her reaction to winning and talking in short, simple sentences makes me think we're seeing her through Tony's eyes.

andiran23 no one has forgotten, but being a good actress isn’t everything. And there are really good actresses who are cast way less than she is and are also less problematic and I don’t see everyone commenting on their acting capabilities. Whenever there’s a controversy with a popular actor it makes more and more people say « sure BUUUUUUT let’s not forget they are talented !!!!! » as if they were underestimated. Maybe it pays to be problematic then :)

Hey late to the party. Could be reading into it too much but I really, REALLY appreciated Nebula beating Tony at flick-football. Like from GotG 2, that was the climax of her arc with Gamora, that all she wanted was a win. (And ultimately to have her sister love an protect her.) Again, it's the small things like that that make the MCU so great!

Don't get me wrong, this is absolutely my favourite movie and it definitely stands on its own. But when I watched it for the first time, I hadn't seen Guardians 2 and both Ant Man movies and so I didn't really understand some of the development. But once I went back and rewatched all the movies before it, I found that it was in fact more entertaining. Nothing was ruined for me. It didn't matter that I knew the ending.

You missed one of my favourite details: At 12:52 Cap says "Whatever it takes." and deliberately looks at Tony. He knows that Tony's daughter is the only reason he originally didn't want to participate and that he is tempted to risk the fate of the universe to make sure that he doesn't lose her. Looking at him while saying that is a reminder: "Whatever it takes. The universe is more important."
