Here's the thing about the battle of wakanda, the highly technological society, and it drives me up a wall. They developed all kinds of laser weapons, hover craft, medical technology etc. They never developed combined arms doctrine? They all just fight as infantry? Where's the armor support, the air support? I mean, with a 10m gap in the shield, a platoon of four M1 Abrams tanks carries a total of about 45k rounds in 7.62 Nato coax ammo alone, and would shred if they had decent fire discipline. 11k rounds per tank. In CQB, this is referred to as the "fatal funnel". You start doing "talking guns", and badguys are gonna have serious issues. Thats already untenable, from Thanos' perspective. Throw in 1 or 2 canister rounds per tank. (Not even assuming a significant number of canister per tank),and the loaders 240 and commander's m2, Throw in platoon of Bradleys and a platoon of hummers with mk19s, and its a total blowout

I think what they're trying to say is that Tom was told to adlib the scene but he couldn't figure it out at first before Anthony gave him that bit of advice. Edit: I also wanted to say how mind-blowing it is knowing that small--worded advice like that can basically be the final ingredient to making something amazing, even for less than a minute. Perfect example of an Occam's Razor that can ground someone enough to put things into proper perspective. But, of course, it would also depend on how you deliver it. Little advice on giving advice: *Don't say that something is simple. Help them see it.*

You’re right. When I was re watching the movies (cause I was 6 when the first iron man came out). And the trailer for the 2012 Avengers came on at the end of CAFA, I just knew those watching it for the first time experienced such hype I know I could never experience

9 maanden geleden
Anomisk +1
Anomisk

Yeah, I agree with that. The quality of an experience doesn't equal how fast you finish it. And as someone who has been frequently told (insultingly) that they're slow at doing and understanding things, there's always been this unspoken pressure to get things done. That's why there are times where I can't watch tv, YouTube, or even read because I'm reminded so often about time that I feel like by putting these things off, I'm behind on something that would kill me if I didn't finish. It's developed into nasty habits and phobias revolved around time and it's ultimately taken the joy out of so many things that I used to run to in my free time. So having to wait years for something to come into fruition is a blessing. I can take things at my own pace, organize the rest of my life, and when I need a break, I can turn to amazing media such as this.

One of my friends actually stopped watching the marvel movies after avengers 2 because he was tired of them just upping the ante. He said it made the other stories seem inconsequential when you follow, say, Winter Soldier with Age of Ultron. I get his point, but at the same time the franchise needed to go somewhere. Making only smaller-scale standalone movies would get old, and bringing everyone together requires an immense conflict to justify. It's the natural evolution of a franchise, and I don't think they could have done it any better than Infinity War

Eh, this one didn't make them pathetic or miniscule, that just comes off wrong. I get the thought, but I think it's more accurate to say that this film dwarfs the others in the sense that all of those earth scale attacks and calamities, while meaningful to these heroes as individuals, don't measure up to what this movie did. It's leading into the true cosmic era of the MCU. The guardians bring space to the MCU, but now with Captain Marvel on the way and with Ant-Man exploring the quantum realm as an idea, we're getting the full breadth of scale that the MCU encompasses. Everything that this movie is, while great on its own, wouldn't exist without the films that came before it, the struggles of the characters. For example, Starlord brutally beating Thanos and ruining the chance of stopping him is influenced by him brutally attacking Ego. That's just one example. This movie is tremendous, but it's built brick by brick on the back of 10 years of films. It wouldn't be what it is without the other films also being tremendous in their own way.

i love that this film had just as much impact on me (someone who is 14 and has been watching these films since she was 8) that it does on someone who was my age when Iron Man came out and yes i know that they weren't all dead dead and they were coming back but i still cried over Spider-Mans death . it truly shows you the power of these films and the same goes for endgame I was just as distraught at Nat and Tonys death as someone who again was my age when Iron Man first came out it shows you that these films are so much more than just films they convey emotion . not only are you crying because something is sad you're crying because someone is dying and you feel as if you know them and have gone on this journey with them over the years . mainly people don't cry at character deaths manly animal deaths but when you have a story thats gone on this long like a TV series or lets say another movie series like Harry Potter . you build lets say relationships with these characters (cause we all cried when Fred died in Harry Potter am i right Potter heads ) you get what i'm saying right?

I think this was one of Hemsworth's best performances. Honestly, I don't understand how people claim he was acting out of character by being funny. You could tell, he was covering the inner sadness, and putting on a brave face because he knew Thanos had to be stopped, and that was more important than his personal problems.

@CA359 lmao you Star Lord haters really are funny Thor didnt focus. He was literally to arrogant and angry to "go for the head" and instantly kill Thanos bit he wanted to rub it into Thanos' painful face. And therefore he is able to snap. Pay attention to thw film kid.

He didn't forego his sadness with his comedy. It's summed up perfectly with his line to Rocket. "He's never fought me twice. And even if I fail, what have I got left to lose?" He's a man on the edge, and all he wants, more than anything, is vengeance against the bastard who took everything from him, even if he dies doing it. If he has to hide his grief to achieve that goal, he'll soldier on and make it happen. It's the most real portrayal of sociopathic rage I've seen on film in the last decade, and it's all too relatable. He's been consumed by his anger. But he's got his target in mind. He can't afford to waste time and effort arguing with anyone else.

Scarlet destroying Vision’s stone really slays me man. At first I thought Vision’s lil “you could never hurt me” speech was just romantic fluff, but It wasn’t until my 3rd viewing that I realized how true that really is?? Like at the beginning of the movie we see Thanos’ goons pin him down and start to extract the stone, which makes Vision scream in unfathomable pain & agony. So we know that messing with V’s stone hurts like a mother. But when it comes time for Scarlet to destroy his stone, Vision’s reaction is so subdued. I mean, the pain’s still gotta be horrifically awful, but it’s like the love he feels for her in that moment is equally as powerful, and so the two forces (almost) cancel each other out. It fuckin breaks my heart man cuz he was right. She really could never hurt him.

15:25 - I think the moon throw works because they made it work; he doesn't "throw the moon", he uses the power stone to shatter it's surface and the space stone to accelerate and move the pieces at Titan. Watch the scene frame by frame, the power stone and space stone work together to strip the crust off of the moon before Thanos sends the pieces screaming down at Iron Man. Epic.

@26 reasonz Ughh... coming back here because of your reply and reading my old comments is making me depressed about it all over again 😭 He's the dearest character to me out of any franchise I've ever been a fan of... As expected, though, Peter Parker is now the only current gen hero that can distract me from his absence in a personal sort of way. (Damn it, why did things have to turn out so much like me and the people I replied to had believed the writers would decide? 😫) I still totally agree with all the thoughts I had back then, including that the death of Tony at this specific point would be (and now is) way more heartbreaking and disheartening than a bittersweet farewell (which was given to Steve instead ... in a much more odd way that I could also debate lol) *sigh* but such is how their stories were wrapped up... The rest was the best they could've done in 3 hours though, I'm sure! It's a great, effective finale with brilliant moments, but Infinity War is definitely still my favorite of the two. What I have to look forward to now is exactly *how* they're executing that lasting effect of Tony and his legacy on Peter's life as Spider-Man. I hope it'll be great and that they'll also satisfyingly show how everything reacts to a world without Iron Man (although it'll make me emotional all over again 😅).
