@Sirvikrail That doesn't really make for much of an interesting story though. They'd have to add onto it (obviously.) Think about it this way, if they were larger chunks instead of smaller floating islands, you may as well just have OCEAN between them. Floating islands are still islands, after all.

Has there ever been a post apocalyptic movie where the few survivors live on a crumbled Earth? Think Outland from World of Warcraft, most, if not all the planet is broken off with sparse civilizations living on these floating rocks. I would love to see a movie similar to that (barring anyone asking “HoW aRE THEY BreATHING!?”

I was mad for the world building and devices and used my imagination to fill in the gaps and uncringe some parts. I remember going to the theme park and taking a 3d of the boat prop so I could go back to it through that photo. I still have it. The 3d’s a bit pushed, but it takes me right back to that dock where it was moored. Great stuff.

@RaptorNX01 Yeah, I can see that. When I was a kid The Phantom Menace came out and I enjoyed it. Until people started hating it and, me, being an impressionable youth at the time thought I was supposed to hate it as well. Now older and wiser I realize that if I like a movie it really doesn't matter what the crowd says.

Maand geleden
RaptorNX01
RaptorNX01

@Matthew Schwer people don't realize that hate can become a meme just as much as good things. and with internet fandom culture almost ALWAYS being "YOU AREN'T ALLOWED TO LIKE WHAT I HATE" you get people crapping on films just to fit in, or to join the "fun", or to avoid getting attacked for liking the hated thing, etc. you saw it with this, with M Night, with the star wars prequels, and on and on.

testfire3000

@Matthew Schwer Hahaha, thank you sir for your reply! I agree, a simple still would have made the most sense. Solar powered perhaps, so it is just constantly generating a small source of water? I too enjoyed this movie despite its faults which neither us can fix these many years later. There were a lot of scenes that I did like that more than made up for that first one.

2 maanden geleden
Matthew Schwer +5
Matthew Schwer

@testfire3000 I do agree that it’s an odd scene to open up on. However, contrary to what one may think, urine and ocean water are not the same. It is very likely that if sea water were used in the machine the more delicate parts might be damaged by higher salt/silt content. The actual simple answer is a still. Cleaning would be simpler than the no doubt complex machinery needed to clean piss. Dang it me, stop trying to fix a decades old movie that, for all its faults, you already enjoy.

To 13-year-old me, our attic wasn't just a blue-carpeted playroom, it WAS Waterworld. And those weren't piles of mixed up Lego bricks, oh no. As a Post-Apocalyptic fan, Waterworld and The Postman are two of the greatest epic PA movies ever made. If you are as well you should look into Wasteland Weekend, it's an amazing post-apocalyptic festival in Death Valley in California. Years back a group who goes to it found the scale model of the Exxon-Valdez that they made for Waterworld in a junk yard and a bunch of us kick started it so they could buy it. They cut it into pieces and every year they ship it out on 18 wheelers to the festival, set it out in the middle of the desert and it's a bar/dance stage/DJ booth that runs all night! Crazy fun.

Two things: - Will you be doing an "Everything Great about Willow" video?! Please! Please do! I know a lot of us would love it! - Heh, I get you about feeling sensitive (hypothetically, of course) about thinning hair. Me, I'm in my early 30s, and I knew it would probably happen to my hair eventually. But when I got badly sick with COVID-19 at the start of this year, it left a lot of marks on me. One of them was that it seemed to hasten hair loss by several years. I went from having a mostly normal scalp, to almost immediately having a clearly defined area of hair at the top of my head that is definitely thinner than the area around it. I didn't want this to happen this soon. Well, when that hair eventually disappears, I'll try to wear the look honourably, heh. So, don't feel bad, Lee. Hypothetically, of course. :P

Would love to see you do Everything Great about "Fury" - a ww2 themed film starring Brad Pitt and other big-name actors all directed by David Ayer. One of my favourite films ever and would love to view an "Everything Great" perspective analysis on it.

Alright, you mentioned it, acknowledged that it's awesome, so I would genuinely love to see a Cinemawins for WILLOW!!!!! DO IT! MAKE. MY DREAM. COME TRUE! ... Seriously though, do it. That movie was easily in my top 3 favorite movies as a kid. Made me fall in love with all things fantasy and medieval-esque. It preceded Lord of the Rings, FFS! (Granted it was 1990, but there were still the Bakshi and Rankin/Bass cartoons, and Willow was my first).

I love this movie but I can also see why it 'flopped'. Expectations vs reality; when I first saw this film I didn't know about the trouble, the money spent and other issues. But if I'd been around to watch it when it came out then it would've been disappointing. As it stands now I wish more people would use this setting for their movies because it seems like one with a lot more possibilities.

I think you should have added: “the set sank so they had to build it again. Most expensive movie ever made when it was made”

I had fun with this film, and also led to one of my favourite stunt shows. Please do an Everything Great about: Legend of Tarzan, Homeward Bound The Incredible Journey, Bumblebee, Rise of the Guardians, Atlantis the Lost Empire!

When I saw this in theaters for the first time, it was a revelation that Costner would play such an unrepentant jackass. Letting the Lime Thief to be killed by the Smokers, his treatment of Enola & Helen, the whole 'bugger off' attitude, all of it. After all of the straight arrow Good Guys on his resumé, watching him go balls to the wall Asshole was a joy.

all i know about this is that the Universal Studios show of this is amazing. I’m from singapore but it’s in Beijing, Japan and Hollywood too. At one point a guy gets set on fire and the fire spreads to the water. Very entertaining and engaging. You may get wet though

I've been waiting for this one. It got ripped so bad by critics but I always thought it was a pretty decent flick. Except for Dennis Hopper, I'm not a fan of his work.
